OCR: SIZZLERS Documentation for Version 1.7.0 by Greg Epley Copyright (c) 1987 Insight Software Development *(tm) 9 SIZZLERS is a series of graphics specialties originally written in Amiga +(tm) Microsoft #(R) BASIC. This is an updated version of SIZZLERS. Several new features have been added. The program contains the original five graphics routines from version 1.0 and tion has utilities that two new routines. The color palatte has been improved and the routines themselves are somewhat faster. A pause function has also been added. Note that this is not version 2.0.0 of Sizzlers. The screen print and screen save functions are not implemented. We request that you use commercially available allow screen dumping and saving until we can include these routines within the program. The pause function will allow you to freeze the onscreen image during these processes. We also plan to add more graphic routines but we wanted to get a newer version of the program out to the public. to SIZZLERS will run from the CLI or Workbench +(tm). You should copy it onto a standard Workbench +(tm) disk. An icon is included and should be copied along with the program (this icon should not be edited it is part of the program package). You may have to rename the icon file from 'Sizzlers.inf' to 'Sizzlers.info'. Click twice on the icon run SIZZLERS from the Workbench +(tm). If you want to run the program gram from the CLI, enter the name "sizzlers" at the CLI prompt (remember to press RETURN). When the program runs, read the opening requester and click once on the OK gadget at the bottom of the requester. The first routine, Flops, will automatically begin. If you press the <HELP> key, a W requester will appear, showing the functions and keys used. When you are done with help, click once on the OK gadget at the bottom of the requester. The program functions are covered below. can produce more random designs by repeatedly pressing the key for a graphic routine. Each press of a graphic clear the screen. Your mouse pointer (arrow) disappear at the proper times in the program. Note that you can still use the drag bar and the front and back gadgets at the top of the screen these are not visible for esthetic reasons. 44 You routine key will will appear and Functions are: F1 - FLOPS; this routine is a series of 4 lines which start at random positions on the screen, changing colors as they move. F2 - TRI-TRICKS; this routine is a single triangle which moves up and down the screen along the X-axis, producing some unusual arch patterns. F3 - CUBIC ILLUSIONS; this routine is a single square which moves and changes size; the bug which existed in the previous version has been exterminated. F4 - PYRI-FLIP; this routine is a single triangle like TRI-TRICKS, but it produces more varied patterns than TRI-TRICKS. F5 QUAD-3; this routine is one of our favorites: it consists of 4 mirrored images of PYRI-FLIP moving at the same time. F6 STARBURSTS: this routine fills the screen with variably sized bursts of color; they have the effect of pom-poms; this doesn't really produce any patterns, but it looks nice. F7 TWISTIES; this is another favorite; it has taken quite awhile to get this routine to work properly; this is the most difficult routine to calculate and plot. F8 (future) F9 (future) F10 (future) HELP displays a requester showing the program functions. - pauses the currently running routine. SPACEBAR ESC - exits the program. SIZZLERS is written in TDI Modula-2 ^(tm) and uses the 640 400, 16-color mode on the Amiga +(tm). You will probably require a 512K Amiga +(tm) if you want to multitask with it. We hope to be one of the few companies to try to push this machine to it's limit (if it has one), without relaxing the multitasking ability, -and using memory as efficiently as possible for those with little memory.
